Hi and welcome to my site!

If you’re here, it probably because you love writing songs!  Well, I do too!  It’s definitely my passion!  I started playing the piano at 5 and I wrote my first song when I was 14 after hearing the song “Endless Love” on the radio.  I decided that I could write a song like that too!

Well, my first several songs were lacking, to say the least, but you have to start somewhere.  Right?!  Eventually, I started picking up on the tricks of the trade and began acquiring tools for my songwriting toolbox.

Since then I’ve written or co-written hundreds (possibly thousands) of songs and have had some pretty cool things happen along the way… Let me break it down for you.

  • 1995      Moved to Nashville, TN

  • 1997      Got a publishing deal with Word Record

    • I Know You Know” (Beyond the Blue)

    • Faith in Motion” (Imperials)

  • 2007      Received my first No.1 on the Indie Country Charts

    • Why” (Vivian Ashton)

  • 2009      Received First Prize in a major songwriting competition

    • Played winning song at Bluebird Cafe, “Rain, Rain

  • 2011      Received the Grand Prize in The Music City Songwriter competition (out of 2,200 entries, with my song “Lie”)

    •  Interviewed by American Songwriter Magazine

  • 2013      First major Country cut

    • Lie” (Tracy Lawrence, “Headlights, Taillights and Radios” album)

    • Released as his third single

    • Became a top 10 hit on the Music Row Country Breakout Chart

    • A music video was created (now with over 1 million views)

  • 2015      Second Country cut

    • I Feel Ya” (Bucky Covington, “Happy Man”)

    • Released as first single

  • 2016     Third Country cut

    • Alive” (Cheree White)

    • Released as first single

I feel incredibly blessed to be living in a town like Nashville and to get to do what I love.  One of those things is helping people “turn the corner” when it comes to songwriting.  There’s nothing like teaching a songwriter the tricks of the trade and the tools needed to develop the songwriting craft in order to help him or her write a really incredible song!

When a song is transformed from a song that just your Mom loves to a song that sounds more commercial and more globally-appealing, it’s truly an amazing thing!

So, I guess what I’m saying is I feel really lucky and extremely blessed and would be happy to help you in any way to getting one step closer to seeing your dreams come true when it comes to writing killer songs!
